'Dark Shadows' Character Posters are Out [PHOTOS]
Johnny Depp is back from the dead - literally and he's out for revenge. In his newest film collaboration with renowned director, Tim Burton and his quirky wife, Helena Bonham Carter, Johnny Depp takes the role of Barnabas Collins in the '60s popular vampire soap opera, "Dark Shadows".
Along with Michelle Pfeifer, Chloe Moretz and Eva Green, strange are definitely relative.
The trailer hit the web just a few days past and it has quite a few mixed reviews. While a few are laughing off Burtons' sarcastic sense of humor set into the trailer, a few are gnashing their teeth at the sight of their all-time favorite cult series have been spliced into a comedic film. "Dark Shadows" according to a film buffs and critics alike, closely resemble Burton's other films namely "Beetlejuice" and "Edward Scissorhands."
Off the record and knowing Johnny Depp, he has once again managed to capture the entire world's attention with his comedic post-century vampire aura. Michelle Pfeiffer on the other hand, looks as stunning as ever while a few barely recognized Helena Bonham Carter in those godforsaken shades of hers. Though her makeup would closely resemble her get up from "Alice in Wonderland", Helena continues to look as quirky and hilarious as ever.
While the trailer is a different thing in mind, the character posters are all too different altogether. Johnny Depp, Eva Green, Helena Bonham Carter and the rest of the cast are featured in ghoulishly pale skin stuck to bright colorful backgrounds with the tagline: "Strange is Relative."
The posters and the trailer prove that Burton had indeed kept the film in a deliberate exaggeration of camp comedy all the while adding a twist of theatric style. It also greatly explains his choice of actors and their acting.
From Johnny Depp's sense of humor to Chloe Moretz no-nonsense and not a care in the world attitude, Burton presented the perfect mix of dark drama and cool comedy into "Dark Shadows."
Before film critics can add anything else either the comments be negative or positive, then they would all have to wait along with the rest of the world with the release of the film by May 11.
