Katie Holmes has decided to live her life, as much as possible, away from now ex-husband Tom Cruise. However, the Hollywood actor may have a not-so-impossible mission on his hands. Tom Cruise apparently does his best efforts to get his daughter Suri's attention and it will probably annoy Katie Holmes in the process.

According to reports, Tom Cruise tries to buy his 6-year old daughter's love with very expensive gifts. Cruise spent some quality time with Suri last week in New York City. The father-and-daughter pair was seen having fun at the beach as well as enjoying a helicopter ride before Suri returned home to her mom Katie Holmes. Daddy's little fashion girl also had her wardrobe filled up with a whole new set of expensive designer clothes and shoes as a gift.

Meanwhile, Cruise declared his determination in maintaining a close bond with Suri after the surprising divorce by wife Katie Holmes. "He's always spoilt Suri. But now he's likely to be redoubling his efforts because he misses her," a source told the UK magazine Look. "What that means for Katie is that while she's trying to instill a routine and introduce more discipline, Tom could swoop in with a fun-only policy," the source added.

The "Mission: Impossible" actor is also reported to have considered moving to New York City for the sake of his daughter and Scientology. Even though Tom Cruise is actually based in Los Angeles, there are speculations that he could permanently move and live closer to Suri.

According to the UK magazine Grazia, a source said that during the proceedings of the divorce, no rules were actually given as to where either party could reside.

"Until now, Scientology has been a very Los Angeles-centric movement, but another reason Tom will be keen to relocate is to focus on developing the church in Manhattan," the source shared. Looks like Katie Holmes' plan of living a free life away from Tom Cruise is not really going well. This includes her method of disciplining her daughter Suri.
