A team's fortunes on transfer deadline day can play a significant role in their success during the remainder of the campaign. Whether it be a bargain buy or an expensive foreign recruit, a club's survival, European or title bid can often rest on the success of the final day of the window.

Deadline day has the capacity to deliver diamonds and disasters in equal measure. For every Suarez or Jelavic, who have moved clubs at the eleventh hour and become instant heroes for their new clubs, there's a Carroll or Torres - over-priced panic buys who wilt under the scrutiny of their hyper-inflated transfer fees.

But whatever transfer deadline day lacks in terms of reason and prudence, it more than compensates for in terms of adrenalin-fuelled excitement, particularly as the minutes tick down to the closure of the window at 11pm.

From: Blackpool – To: Liverpool or Reading
Liverpool have had two bids rejected for the 20-year-old as January has proved to be somewhat of a waiting game for both parties. Ince, who has scored 15 goals for the Seasiders this season, is valued at £8million by his club, a price that would not scare off Liverpool in their quest to continue the policy of signing young domestic talent. Reading, however, have also gone public in their desire to sign the England Under 21 star.

From: Barcelona – To: Arsenal or Manchester City
Arsenal have been linked with the Euro 2008 Golden Boot winner in several transfer windows and the pressure on manager Arsene Wenger is increasing as fans urge the Frenchman to splash some cash on a star attraction. Manchester City meanwhile have seen striker Mario Balotelli leave for AC Milan in exchange for approximately £20million, which is now burning a hole in Roberto Mancini’s pocket.

From: Birmingham City – To: Chelsea, Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Southampton
With Birmingham having transfer-listed their entire squad, Chelsea are looking to take advantage of The Blues desperate state by snapping up the highly-rated England international stopper.
With Petr Cech currently out injured and Ross Turnbull providing little authority behind a brittle back-four Rafa Benitez is understood to be keen to add Butland to his squad ahead of attempts to finish in the Premier League's top four.
Butland's tumbling valuation due to Birmingham's financial plight means the likes of Everton, Fulham, Liverpool and Southampton have all been alerted to the 19-year old.

From: Stoke - to Queens Park Rangers
Harry Redknapp, who has a habit of making the odd foray in the transfer market on deadline day is looking to sign the miss-firing Peter Crouch for a third time in his managerial career.
Having spent time together in two different spells at Portsmouth and with Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur, Redknapp will be hoping to make it fifth time luck as he attempts to guide QPR from the Premier League basement to survival.

From: Internacional - to: Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham are ready to launch a bid for long-term target, Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao.
With Jermain Defoe struggling with a pelvic injury and Emmanuel Adebayor away on African Cup of Nations duty, it seems as though Andre Villas-Boas is as keen on the 23-year-old, having told Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy that Damiao is the only player he would like to sign before the window shuts down.
Obediently, Levy consequently offered £15million for the striker, according to reports.

From: West Ham United – To: Arsenal, Aston Villa, Fulham or Tottenham Hotspur
Despite reports to contrary, Arsenal are yet to make a bid for Diame. The player have spoken of his desire to stay at East London, however manager Sam Allardyce has admits he is in the dark over the midfielder's future.
In order to lure Diame to the club this summer, West Ham were forced to add a release clause to his contract, believed to be around £6m, and given his supremacy in the middle of the park this term, rival clubs are prowling.

From: West Bromwich Albion to Queens Park Rangers
Despite reacting angrily on Twitter to having a transfer request rebuffed by West Brom, Harry Redknapp in his pursuit of Premier League survival has seemingly been unperturbed.
QPR have already had a £2million offer rejected, with Albion reluctant to let the strike go during this window, despite having Romelu Lukaku, Shane Long and Markus Rosenberg in reserve but the Nigerian's attitude may be the final nail in the coffin for his career at The Hawthorns.

From: Swansea – to: Sunderland, Norwich or Reading
Unhappy with the lack of first team football after Michu’s introduction the Premier League, the boyhood Newcastle fan looks increasingly certain to end up at Sunderland despite both Norwich and Reading having previously expressed interest in the target man. The fee, which is believed to be around £4-5million, would most likely be accepted by Swansea and it is expected that Graham would sign a three-and-a-half year deal with the Wearside club.

From: Celtic to: Norwich
Celtic manager Neil Lennon has insisted Hooper will remain a Celtic player as the Scots prepare for the knock-out stages of Champions League. Norwich however thinks that a relegation scrap in the Premiership would be more tempting for the striker and has made two bids for the SPL top goalscorer and are likely to come back with third. Having repeatedly rejected an offer for a new contract with Celtic, the club might want to cash in before it is too late.

From Stuttgart – To: Fulham, Liverpool, Inter Milan or Marseille
Former Fiorentina midfielder Kuzmanovic could make a last ditch surprise move to the Premier League, with both Fulham and Liverpool looking to strengthen their midfield.
Fulham who are still looking to fix the gap left by Moussa Dembele’s departure to Spurs in August, see the Serbian, who is believed to cost approximately £2.5m, as a potential replacement.
Liverpool, who are on the verge of signing Philipe Coutinho from Inter, face competition from the San Siro giants, who are keen to fill the gap left by the Brazilian midfielder.
