Justin Timberlake has been confirmed as a performer for the upcoming 55th Grammy awards.

The singer is making a triumphant return to the Grammy stage after a four year absence, and has also recently released new solo music for the first time in seven years.

His last Grammy performance was in 2009, according to the Los Angeles Times, when he did a last minute performance with Al Green of the legend’s song "Let's Stay Together," as a stand in for Chris Brown and Rihanna, who were absent from the show due to their now infamous assault incident.

Since then, the Jack of all trades has largely taken time off from music in order to focus on his acting career and marry longtime girlfriend, Jessica Biel.

Timberlake’s performance will culminate his comeback which includes his anticipated album “The 20/20 Experience” that is scheduled to release Mar. 19,  as well as his recently released single “Suit and Tie” that debuted Jan. 14.

“Suit & Tie” has been well received thus far, having topped the U.S. pop charts in the No. 4 spot last week and has sold 315,000 downloads in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The Los Angeles Times notes that with Timberlake among a dream line-up for performers set to perform at the Grammys, including Taylor Swift, Jack White, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood and the Black Keys, the Recording Academy may be looking to up the ante from the 2012 show that garnered 40 million viewers, the second largest audience the awards has ever had.

The newspaper notes that that particular awards show drew particular attention due to the then recent death of Whitney Houston just a day prior, as well as Adele’s comeback performance following vocal surgery.

The 2013 Grammy Awards will air Feb. 10 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
