The online community is filled with speculations about the recent happenings all around the world. Conspiracy theories about the end of the world peaks the interest of everyone as other prophecies are gathered everyday.

The world each had their own opinion about Beyonce's "Illuminati" symbol. Although many are suggesting that it is a hand sign originally from Jay Z, some can't help but wonder what it really means. And why are they flashing it at every chance they get? Is it a code to acknowledge the secret society that they are part of? There are many questions but there are limited explanations.

Then comes the meteor that hit Russia. According to reports, the meteorite was the largest to hit the planet in a century. It measures around 55 feet and weighed around 10,000 tons. The meteor streaked through the Russian Ural Mountain's sky and crashed on Friday. It left about 1,100 people injured. Some predicts that it could just be the first of many signs to come.

In addition to speculations about the apocalyptic event that may happen soon, social media outlets and the rest of the online community are buzzing about the predictions made by Saint Malachy. According to the prophecy, the pope which is to be elected after Benedict XVI will be the last pope for all of us.

In his predictions dated in 1139, Saint Malachy prophesied that there would be 112 popes before the "Judgment Day" comes. Pope Benedict XIV is believed to be the 111th pope. So it directly indicates that the next pope that will be voted at the conclave on February 28 will be the 112th, and with the prophecy, the last one.

"In the extreme persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit ... Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations: and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the terrible judge will judge his people. The End," indicated by "Prophecy of Popes."

Ironically, theorists suggest that Saint Malachy might be right. There is in fact a candidate who bears the name Peter. Cardinal Peter Turkson of Ghana who could probably be Benedict's successor may be the one mentioned by Malachy in the prophecy.

Like any prophecy, there are many holes in Malachy's prediction. The same can be said in the alleged Nostradamus' prophecy about Korean singer, Psy. "Gangnam Style" was directly linked to prophecies about the end of the world.

"From the calm morning, the end will come, when of the dancing horse, the number of circles will be nine," one of Nostradamus' quatrains tells.

Psy who is from Korean was referred to as the one from the "calm morning." As well as the "dancing horse" which imitates the "Gangnam" dance move. But what Nostradamus missed out was the line that said, "number of circles will be nine." The video hit past 1 billion in YouTube views already and the ground did not crack open.

In the end, all these remain as prophecies. Although there's a chance for it to be true, there's a higher probability that it is not.
