Lenovo announced a new line-up of Android-based tablets to match consumer needs for both ultra-portable tablets and multimedia performers at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The line-up includes two new A-series 7-inch tablets, specially designed for optimal mobility packed with performance. The company claims that A1000 is ideal for the first-time tablet buyers and features enhanced audio, while the A3000 offers the powerful quad-core processor for speedy performance.
Along with two A-series tablets, Lenovo also announced S6000, a 10-inch tablet which offers extended I/O options with large vibrant screen and a super-slim profile that makes it stylish.
"Lenovo's latest Android tablet family is designed to meet the demands of a wide range of customers, particularly young, active users who are always on the go, and have adopted the seven-inch form factor as their own. With these latest additions to our tablet portfolio, we've created devices that address these customers' needs, as well as devices for more demanding gamers and multimedia users," said Chen Wenhui, vice president Lenovo and GM Mobile BU.
"We believe that our Android family of tablets will appeal to customers across the world as we've built our products to be highly accessible and flexible to serve multiple needs and budgets," he added in a press release.
The Lenovo A1000 is powered with 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system. It comes with 16GB on-board storage and expandable up to 32GB with a micor-SD slot. The tablet is integrated with Dolby Digital Plus, front-facing speakers which make it perfect choice for music lovers.
The Lenovo A3000 is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core MTK processor and the it comes with optimized user experience for games, video, social networking and web browsing. The tablet also comes with micro-SD card slot to expand memory up to 64GB and optional 3G HSPA+ connectivity option.
The Lenovo S6000 offers a sleek and powerful option for customers who are looking for a device that switches seamlessly from entertainment to social media. It is powered with 1.2GHz quad-core MTK 8389/8125 processor and runs on Android operating system. It comes with 10.1 inch IPS display at 1280 X 800 pixels resolution along with a 178 -degree wide viewing angle, micro HDMI port and digital microphone.
All the new tablet line-up will be available globally from second quarter of 2013.
